Sacraments

BAPTISMS
Baptisms are held in the Parish on the first and third Sundays of each month at 11:30am or at any Parish Mass on a second, fourth or fifth Sunday of the month, after parents have attended a compulsory

  • Preparation Night, which takes place on the first Tuesday of each month in the Parish Community Centre (formerly the Parish House) at 7:30pm and
  • Parish Welcome (arranged at this preparation night) to take place at a Parish weekend Mass on a 1st or 3rd Sunday of the month (prior to the day of the baptism)

FIRST RECONCILIATION
Children in Year 3 are prepared for their First Reconciliation at the Parish school or at Parish classes. Please refer to the parish bulletin Seasons for details at the beginning of the school year.

FIRST EUCHARIST
First Eucharist is offered to our young parishioners when they are in Year 3. This normally happens in Term 3. Please note that it is the practice in the Archdiocese that Reconciliation must happen before First Eucharist. If your child has not already made their First Reconciliation, you would need to contact us in the first week of the school year, so that they can prepare for Reconciliation first. Preparation for both sacraments happens at the school or at after-school classes. For First Eucharist, please refer to the parish bulletin Seasons from May for details.

CONFIRMATION
Confirmation is offered to young people in Year 6. The exact date each year is determined by the Archdiocese. Details about information nights and preparation classes are published in the parish bulletin, Seasons around the end of first term.

WEDDINGS
Six months' notification is normally required to allow for proper preparation. The priest who is celebrating your marriage will assist you in that preparation and look after all civil and church requirements. Please contact Fr. Laurie directly to arrange an appointment to confirm the time and date of your wedding.

FUNERALS
The death of a loved one is a very difficult time. As a parish community, we will do all that we can to ease the situation for you. The time and place of the Funeral is determined in consultation with the family, the priest and the funeral arranger.
